Main Bedroom
A serene, layered bedroom retreat
A blank white new-build bedroom is now a calm, layered retreat. With panelled walls, a soft upholstered bed, and layers of textures and patterns, the design creates a restful space that feels warm, personal, and effortlessly elegant.

The Room Makeover
The Brief / Challenges
As with many new builds, the bedroom started as a blank white box. It was functional but lacking warmth, colour, or character. The clients wanted a serene, neutral retreat but weren’t sure how to achieve interest and depth without introducing bold colours.
solutions
I designed a layered neutral scheme featuring wall panelling as a focal point with artwork above, paired with a textured upholstered bedframe. Layers of boucle and patterned cushions, a bedspread, and soft window treatments in a subtle leaf motif added texture and personality. Clean glass lamps completed the look, bringing a touch of elegance and calm.
client's wishes
To incorporate wall panelling as a feature in their bedroom while keeping the palette soft and neutral.
result
The once plain space was transformed into a serene and inviting main bedroom. With its layered textures and timeless neutral scheme, the room now feels both restful and refined — a calming retreat that feels far from “just another new build bedroom.”
