Living/Dining Room

Coastal-inspired living and dining refresh

What started as a plain, tired space with no personality is now full of colour, texture, and warmth. A coastal-inspired palette, new flooring, and modern furniture have given this family a stylish living and dining space to love for years to come.

The Room Makeover

The Brief / Challenges

The space lacked personality and warmth with plain white walls, a tired carpet, and outdated lighting left the room feeling flat. Bulky white leather sofas dominated the room but offered no colour, comfort, or style.

solutions

I reimagined the space with Farrow & Ball Selvedge on all walls, adding depth and a subtle coastal nod to reflect the home’s location. We updated the flooring to a practical warm wood, replaced dated fittings with sleek spotlights and a statement pendant above the dining table, and introduced new sofas, a coffee table, and a wall media unit. Layers of colourful patterned cushions and accessories added the personality the room was missing.

client's wishes

The client wanted colour to shine through the design while keeping the space stylish and welcoming.

result

The transformation turned a bland, lifeless room into a vibrant yet timeless living and dining space. With a balance of bold colour, practical upgrades, and layered styling, the room now feels fresh, personal, and ready to enjoy — perfect for everyday living and entertaining
