Do you ever look around your home and feel… disconnected?
Maybe the furniture doesn’t reflect your style anymore. Maybe the colours feel flat. Maybe the space just isn’t working the way it used to.
We’ve all been there. The house you once loved now feels a little tired. But moving or renovating isn’t always the answer — and it doesn’t need to be. Sometimes, the best way to reconnect with your home is with a thoughtful, design-led refresh. You just need to see it with fresh eyes.
Your Home Should Work for Who You Are Now
Most of my clients come to me feeling frustrated. Their home no longer reflects their life:
Kids have grown up and the space needs refreshing
They've recently moved and nothing feels quite right
They’re busy professionals craving calm and order after a long day
They know what they like, but they can’t quite pull it all together.
That’s where I come in.
A Room Makeover Can Be Truly Transformational
My makeover service isn’t about buying a new sofa and hoping for the best. It’s a complete, thoughtful redesign of a single space — from layout to lighting, materials to mood.
With your makeover, you’ll get:
• A clear vision for your space, grounded in your personal style
• A detailed floor plan so you know exactly how it will work
• A curated shopping list that takes the guesswork out of sourcing
• A styling guide so you can set it all up with ease and confidence
You’ll stop wasting money on the wrong things. You’ll stop second-guessing every decision. And most importantly — you’ll feel that “yes!” moment every time you walk into the room.
The power of paint, shelving and thoughtful accessories
As a designer, I help clients reconnect with their homes all the time — and it’s often simpler than they expect. If you’re feeling stuck, here’s how to reignite the spark.
1. Take a Step Back — Literally
When you live in a space day in, day out, it’s easy to stop seeing it. Try walking into the room as if you were a guest. What jumps out? What feels cluttered, cold, or uninviting?
Pro tip: Take photos of the space — our brains process photos differently than what we see in person. You’ll spot things you never noticed before.
2. Identify the Energy Drains
Start by pinpointing the aspects of the room that are bringing the energy down. Is it the wall colour? Furniture placement? Lack of storage?
Common culprits I see include:
Bulky furniture that blocks natural light
Cold lighting or outdated ceiling fixtures
Blank walls that make the room feel incomplete
Too many mismatched styles competing with each other
3. Focus on the Feel, Not Just the Look
Ask yourself: How do I want to feel in this room? How do we use this room? Cosy? Calm? Invigorated? Do you use it to watch TV in the evenings? Is it a quiet nook to read? That feeling should guide every decision — from colour to furniture to lighting.
For example, many of my clients want a calm, timeless look — think layered textures, muted tones, and furniture that feels grounded but not heavy. We might introduce panelling in a soft neutral like Farrow & Ball’s Purbeck Stone, swap a cold grey sofa for a warmer fabric bed, or add oak tones and greenery to soften the space.

4. Bring in Character Without a Renovation
You don’t need to knock down walls to make a room feel different. A few strategic updates can completely shift the atmosphere:
Paint a feature wall or add wall panelling for depth and interest
Replace lighting with warm, layered options (table lamps, wall sconces, dimmable overheads)
Add softness with textiles — a new rug, linen curtains, or layered bedding
Rearrange furniture to create a better flow or more purposeful zones
I recently worked with a client who felt their main bedroom lacked personality. With a few thoughtful updates — new paint, a fabric bed, oak bedside tables, and carefully chosen accessories — the space felt completely different. No builders, no dust. Just smart design.
5. Get Expert Eyes on the Space
Sometimes, it’s hard to know where to start — or what’s even possible. That’s where a designer’s eye can make all the difference. I bring clarity, cohesion, and a clear plan, so you're not second-guessing every decision or buying things that don’t work.
Whether your space needs a full re-think or just a few key changes, my Interior Design Service helps you see the potential — and make it happen
A fresh perspective, a clear plan, and a cohesive vision — that’s the power of design. Let’s make your space somewhere you love to be again.
